Your Background

Ideally, the person we are looking for is someone who is, by nature, very comfortable with social and digital media. A digital native, if you will. It doesn’t matter whether you fit in the age demographic. It’s your attitude that matters: You are passionate about the internet. You follow, participate and start conversations online. You contribute to your surroundings through your skills, because you understand that in order to stay on top of your craft, you must work hard and possess an open mind for exploring the culture, emerging technologies and their possibilities. A hacker mentality is a definite plus.

Your Job

Skill-wise we are looking for a kickass visual designer first. As always, there is a but —your main skill is designing visual interactions, interfaces and services, but we need you to be an inter-disclipinary persona, someone who possesses curiosity and skills leaning towards other disciplines as well: IxD, UX, sociology and psychology, among others. Experience in wireframes, visual frameworks and IA is a big plus. It is very important that you understand how human-centric design works, and have worked in close cooperation with agile development teams.

Since you will work closely with the web, we assume you understand the workings of front-end code and know what LAMP stands for. Experience in Processing or any other rapid prototyping and visualisation tool is a big plus, too.

You have experience in designing for at least two of the following:

• iPhone/Android/Maemo,
• Web applications/services,
• large scale touch screens, or
• physical products.

Most importantly, you are a hardworking individual and have the desire to develop and push yourself forward as a designer every day. This is in actual fact our most important requirement.

The Practical Stuff

We would like to offer you a full-time job working on interesting and varied projects with a bunch of brilliant people, right in the center of Helsinki. Currently we’re, for example, working on projects in telecommunications, banking, online media, personal health and the future.

The projects we work on are mostly in Finnish and English, so it would be useful for you to know both. You should at the very least be very fluent in English. Even though you are not in it for the money, we understand a good reward for your time is important, as is offering you the best possible tools and work environment. You can start immediately.
