First, Panu Korhonen has been nominated to the position of Managing Director at Nordkapp. He has worked with Nordkapp as UX strategist, concept designer and advisor since Autumn 2009. Before that he has made a long career in design and management, for example at Nokia.
Matti Mölsä, who has been the CEO up till now will take the responsibility for Nordkapp’s operations. Sami Niemelä continues in his role as Creative Director, and Ilkka Haavisto has been nominated to Business Development Director. He will be responsible for the business development, sales, and strategy of Nordkapp.

Growing up
Matti, with the help of the whole Nordkapp team, has turned the company from a small start-up into a high quality design consultancy. Despite of the downturn in economy the company has grown steadily throughout its 3-year existence. “Currently we are 11 designers, and there seems to be pressure for further growth. Together with the board we decided that now it’s a good time to renew also the organization by changes that are not too dramatic, but rather a progression. With a new MD and clear definition of the key roles we feel that Nordkapp is growing up as a company.”
What next?
“Many companies and corporations finally understand how they can truly utilize internet in their business,“ continues Matti. “We are working closely with clients that recognize the value of well designed interactive products and services that attract new customers and create new business. Panu as the new MD and the whole team are looking forward to creating further success stories together with our clients.”
During the Autumn we will further put effort in keeping our design quality the best on the market – and even further. We want to be better in our internal operations so that we can excel also in how we operate and run our projects. Thirdly, we want to invest part of our time to explore new, emerging domains such as urban informatics. You’ll be hearing about this – stay tuned!
